Since wedding anniversaries often correspond to certain gifts in certain years along the couple's lifelong journey, the invitations should match the gift's theme. For example, if the 70th anniversary is traditionally an occasion to give Platinum, then the invitation's theme should be platinum too. Platinum-colored or embossed outlines on the edges or borders of the card appropriate. The card itself could be a lightly-colored Platinum color.

Embossed text could have the texture, luster, and 3D aspect of Platinum. Since raw materials are usually the gifts of choice for certain years, it's quite easy to get the cards matched in respect. Wood, copper, bronze, gold, emerald, etc. can all be imbued into the card with things as simple as glitter, flecks of colored paper, arts and crafts materials, etc. Hire a local artist to help you do custom invitations if it's a very special anniversary.
